Simon Longworth-Riggs has seven years practical experience in architectural design in Cornwall with a particular aptitude for technical specification and, essential for us, a passion for effective sustainable design. Supported by the Unlocking Cornish Potential recruitment scheme, we are looking forward to supporting Simon through his RIBA Part III Architecture qualification.

The Business Cornwall website has featured the news that Ecohouse has invested in a Smart car to help us reduce our carbon footprint by 10% in 2010 as part of the national 1010 campaign.

Ecohouse Joins 10:10 Campaign
Ecohouse is pledging to reduce its carbon footprint by another 10% in 2010. With an expanding team and several sites running the company is investing in a business vehicle. They have opted for a Smart car - one of the most fuel efficient cars on the market with a combined consumption of 80mpg. The car will be signwritten as part of a rebranding scheme currently being carried out. The pledge is part of a national campaign involving thousands of individuals and organisations from across the country to unite behind one simple idea: a 10% cut in carbon emissions during 2010. St Agnes Ecohouse on BBC
This morning Nicky and Robin van der Bij were featured as part of a week long BBC series on building your own home. The programme is being screened at 11am on BBC1 throughout this week. The couple showed cameras around their St Agnes eco house back in June. The show highlighted the home's environmentally friendly features built in for an affordable price, such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting and heat recovery ventilation.
